Fleet/Operations Director

A small sightseeing bus company is looking for an experienced and capable individual to serve as a Fleet Maintenance Manager. In your role as a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the operations, maintenance and performance of our bus fleet and will manage our team of fleet maintenance associates. This is a full-time position. The Fleet Maintenance Manager position will involve: • Controlling the use of labor and equipment to continuously improve efficiency and safety in the maintaining of the fleet • Developing and monitoring fleet performance measurements to meet goals and continuously improve results and providing reports to senior management as directed • Analyzing and making changes in maintenance procedures as needed in order to improve safety and efficiency using best business practices • Directly supervising associates and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws - responsibilities include, but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems • Investigating all accidental damages to building and equipment that occur and confirming results in writing to Director of Operations and Safety Manager • Assisting in the development of the annual fleet operations budget and assuming responsibility for performance against the approved plan • Overseeing and assuring compliance to Federal, State and/or any other regulatory laws or guidelines Fleet Maintenance Manager – Transportation Fleet Coordinator Job Responsibilities As a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that all of our buses are maintained and kept in working order, and that our high standards of quality and safety are upheld by all maintenance personnel. You will also handle maintenance and repair functions within your fleet on an as-needed basis. Your specific duties as a Fleet Maintenance Manager will include: • Maintaining security of associates, product, facilities and equipment • Maintaining computerized inventory and tracking repair expenses per piece of equipment • Assisting with setting up new fleet policies and procedures • Communicating with fleet associates, Operations’ Management and other company management as required • Maintaining the cleanliness of the fleet shop • Ensuring the timely filing of fuel tax reports • Monitoring the timeliness of drivers on routes • Monitoring daily service in compliance with state and federal regulations Job Requirements As a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you must display strong leadership skills and a firm understanding of automotive maintenance. You must also have solid organizational, time-management and prioritization abilities. It is also vital for your role as a Fleet Maintenance Manager that you have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Specific qualifications for the Fleet Maintenance Manager position include: • High School diploma or equivalent • 3-5 years Fleet Management experience in a similar work environment • NY State/Federal DOT compliance experience • Ability to pass mandatory ergonomics testing • Ability to pass initial and random drug testing • Ability pass credit and background check • Must have CDL P license
